Lady Bird Johnson Home Movies, Home Movie #38. Footage of the Johnsons at Camp David, Campobello and LBJ Ranch in the 1960s. This is a silent, color, outdoor film. Following is a scene by scene description, courtesy of the Audio Visual Archives at LBJ Library.
The first section of this film features the Johnson family and others at Camp David on July 30-31, 1966. It opens with Lynda Johnson sitting in a convertible. Then we see LBJ swimming in pool with small child around his neck. Two unidentified children stand near the pool. LBJ hangs out in the pool talking to Joe Califano, who is holding a small child; another child is standing by the pool. Lynda talks to an unidentified woman by the pool. An unidentified girl jumps up and down in shade. Back to LBJ in the pool, now talking with and kissing a small child. The camera shows an unidentified man in pool, and then Joe Califano stands near the pool. An unidentified woman plays badminton with Lynda. Joe Califano, Pat Nugent, and two others hang out in the pool. LBJ? dives into the pool. Luci Johnson and Pat Nugent eat near the pool. An unidentified woman talks and laughs at the poolside. Lyndon Johnson (wearing plaid shirt) suns next to Lynda. An unidentified woman sits near the pool. Several unidentified people sit under the pool umbrella. Pat Nugent, Luci, and Lady Bird eat at the poolside.
The next few frames are of an unidentified girl feeding a fawn at unknown location, with a dog and cat nearby.
Then we see views at the LBJ Ranch of cactus flowers blooming and pasture scenes.
The next scenes are of Luci and Pat Nugent and an unidentified person dressed up at Camp David?

Following are scenes from President and Mrs. Johnson laying the cornerstone for the visitor's center at Roosevelt Campobello International Park on Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada, on August 21, 1966. First we see a group of people waiting for the ceremony, and a Canadian band playing. Lady Bird Johnson talks with unidentified woman, and then the camera pauses on a group of unidentified ladies talking. Three unidentified men pose. LBJ speaks from the podium with Lady Bird and others seated behind him. The crowd and Canadian Mounties listen to LBJ at the podium. The camera shows a view of the visitor's center building, and then a Canadian naval officer in the crowd.

Again at the same ceremony, Mounties and the crowd listen to speakers. An unidentified man stands at the podium with LBJ and Mrs. Johnson seated. Another unidentified stands man at the podium. The crowd and Mounties listen to the speakers. LBJ and two men lay cornerstone.
The next footage was taken at the LBJ Ranch on August 14, 1966 and features LBJ and General and Mrs. Westmoreland. This section opens with LBJ talking to Gen. William C. Westmoreland and Bill Moyers. A small child plays with a beagle. LBJ stands with Gen. and Mrs. Westmoreland at the ranch. Two unidentified airmen stand in front of Air Force One. LBJ says good bye to Gen. and Mrs. Westmoreland by Air Force One, and Gen. and Mrs. Westmoreland board the airplane. LBJ shakes hands with unidentified airman. LBJ rides in a golf cart with a small child in his lap driving. The camera lingers on views of the Pedernales River?
The film now cuts back to scenes at the Camp David pool, continued from first part of the film. Luci and Pat Nugent eat, talk and play poolside. LBJ (wearing plaid shirt) sits with Lynda and Luci at his side. Two unidentified men talk in the shade.
The next scenes are of staff members handling correspondence.
Finally, we return to Gen. William C. Westmoreland and his wife at the LBJ Ranch (continued from earlier footage). Gen. Westmoreland talks to someone behind the camera, and then Gen. and Mrs. Westmoreland.
The end of the film is a repeat of some of the earlier scenes.
