Chris Lundy describes a snowpit done at 9200' on a ENE facing slope of 28 degrees. Obvious signs of instability were observed on this day, including recent avalanche activity and widespread collapsing and cracking of the snowpack. 16" of dense recent snowfall sits atop weak, sugary faceted snow resulting in an unstable snowpack. An Extended Column Test fractured blockwide with 4 taps from the wrist.
