There are several prophecies in the old testaments that point to Jesus as the Messiah..In genesis chapter 3 you can see a prophet about the seed that would kill the serpent. This is infact regarding Jesus and Satan.. So jesus came.. And died..And as he died the jewish faith ceased to be true and instead christianity was introduced.. Do you honestly not see this ? I am a jehovahs witness and i agree with you regarding the old testament as the word of god. So everything you said to justify the jewish faith also justifies all faith that build on it..All christian denominations that does not reject the old testament and Islam can benefit from any evidence that the jewish faith was right since they all claim it.

You asked two different questions.

I'll answer in order:

1 - The Jews claim that God spoke to them. Directly. They saw how he gives the Torah. How he talking with Moses. How God commanded them to listen to Moses. That there is claimed to certainty by God himself.

2 - the golden calf incident proves that God did not leave Israel, even after the worst sin of all. Let alone the other offenses. Ie this eternal covenant between God the people of Israel. As the prophets announced.

The bible also states that about 500 men saw Jesus christ ressurected..And eventhough i agree with you regarding Gods revelation in Mount Sinai it is also only human claims since a human wrote the bible and the torah. Albet Genesis-Deutronomy where inspired by God they are still human claims.
