On the same day as President Obama's "jobs summit," American Solutions hosts a town hall event on job creation in Jackson, MS at Millsaps College. The event was captured live on Ustream at http://www.ustream.tv/channel/the-real-jobs-summit.
RIGHT ON!!!! It's time for PEOPLE to throw the bums out of Washington starting with the white house. We can't wait another DAY!! GET OUT OF WASHINGTON YOU LIBERAL SCUMS.
How about reducing the corporate tax? We have the 2nd-highest corporate tax in the world. Getting rid of all the subsidies, tax breaks for particular companies, barriers to entry, antitrust exemptions, etc.? You know, implementing a REAL free market. Even Tim Carney (if I remembered his name right) of the CEI wrote a book about corporate welfare and corporatist politics.
Instead of wasting time on inconsequential bullshit like cap and trade, you guys should worry about how damaging the FED is to our economy like Ron Paul does. They totally restructured our business cycle, and we get recessions INCREDIBLY frequently. We don't have a single decade in the US anymore without a recession. At most, it's about 7-8 years of boom and then a recession. How about reimplementing the gold standard, which was hugely successful and not very inflation-prone?
You talk of how much of a "free-market" guy Reagan was, but you forget all the massive spending he approved or the payroll tax increase he signed onto. If Reagan was really into cutting spending so much, he would've told the Democrats in Congress, "Look, either you don't pass this spending, or I'm not passing this budget." It's not that damn hard! Cold War or not, it wouldn't have taken THAT long to.
Reagan only 'slowed the growth' of regulations not actually reduce many.
Leave the jobs summits to the libertarians, like me. We know more about free market principles than you guys. You guys on the Righ tand GOP are just a bunch of corporatists. You give constant tax breaks, subsidies, etc. to businesses and give OTHER businesses plenty of barriers to entry, preventing real competition. You give antitrust exemptions to insurance companies, and few conservatives seem willing to talk of repealing McCarran-Ferguson.
@whoo689... This is an exercise in irritating Liberal spewing idiots like yourself. God gives us the guidelines we should follow in life. There are always those who distort what God says. So what else is new?
God doesn't protect, but that man protects himself. God is inspiration. Man is man. Now I know all that is irritating for liberals to hear for liberals. It's like change magnetic poles.. you can't. Liberals are the negative charge and Conservatives are the Positive.
LIke I used to tell my kids when they were young. When you criticize something you do not understand, it does not make that thing look stupid, it makes you look stupid. Millsaps College is a private, Methodist Church college, so separation of church and state (which you obviously do not understand either) does not apply, stupid.
This video actually sounds better if you press the vuvuzuela button. Try it out.

Bill Clinton never hired anyone, and his job market was really good.
Cutting taxes to the rich doesn't create jobs. G.W.Bush proved that.
The people that bought those houses were schemed into those predatory loans. It was unethical on the mortgage company's side.
We can't compete with foreign countries with with our current currency exchange rates.
