STEVE MARRIOTT - Recorded live in Workington in 1989 - despite not being a sound desk recording, the overall sound quality is pretty good, and the band were firing on all cylinders that night, with a great selection of songs from various points in Steves career.

Steves singing and guitar work is phenomenal throughout t!!!

'Classic Rock' magazine held a survey in 2009, of the top 50 all time great rock singers, Steve came in at no 6, With Freddie Mercury at no 1, and Paul Rogers at no. 2, its nice to know that he was up there with the best of them !

  • Great tune and photo montage!

  • I saw Steve Marriott three times over the years, he was one of the best live acts that I ever witnessed, the tone of his guitar, and the power in his voice were second to none, ....... SHEER MAGIC!

  • If someone from another planet asked me what is rock & roll, I'd play this song for them.

  • NICE WORDS........ I AGREE !

  • missed but not forgotten.

    RIP man

  • I was at this gig.

I can remember Steve singing loud and clear without even using the mic.

    Brilliant.

  • Thank you.

  • God hasn't gave us the beautiful words yet to express Steve and his music.

  • Oh my, when Steve was in Workington, I was living in Cockermouth..what would Steve have said, about that name. lol.. and got my lovely Border Collie *Boy* from a farm in Workington,..If only I had known Steve was there : /

  • His voice - when he's in full flight , has a warble similar to Grace Slick - the Queen of the Hippies. Their voices are full of energy and promises of how the World is about to change.

  • Pure Dynamite!!

  • @arundelthomas I'm sure I was at this gig and the band backing Marriot was "The DT's" (a blues band in their own right-Simon Honeyboy hinkling on harp I think).

  • just one thing.the best.nothing is better.
