Some photos taken on 14th Oct 1956 at Thomson/Sembawang Road area. You can find some pretty old racing cars in here. Represented were Alpha, Jaguar, Aston Martin, TR and a host of others. Thanks to the nice Brit gentleman whom I met at a local car race 2 years ago who passed me these precious photos.

Singapore started with street circuit racing in the early days. After banning of street circuits in the late 60s, motor racing in Singapore moved to other closed off venues for rallies and races.

The circle is now complete. On 28 Sep 2008, Formula 1 is going to be held in Singapore for the first time. On a street circuit!

Do enjoy the pics and original music, which is produced by me. Have a nice day! - Bai Yun

  • WE GOT A HILLCLIMB??!!!!!

  • The one on it's top is a mg3. There may also be a jag proto-racer.

  • The one in the ditch was a mg3 ?. Was there also a jag proto?

  • I noticed a Borgward Isabella, and an Allard. The mid-engined v-twin one may have been a cooper, and I suspect several of the small ones may have been specials, possibly Austin Seven specials. I think I may have spotted a Dellow as well.

  • love the music ... man these cars are really old ... does anyone recognise any make or model ... bet my dad might remember this ... (^____^)
