Wow Emotional2000 that actress that played Mary was really good. Especial when she lost her child in the fire. That one kill me when it aired

@mkfan5858 Melissa sue anderson was brilliant as Mary on LHOP. One of her best epi's, in my opinion, is "May We Make Them Proud" where she losing her baby in a fire.... It was heartbreaking to watch, but an award-winning performance by the actress (if I do say so myself).

Thank you for uploading this video and other of Little House. I grew up watching this and love this show. I cried so many times. When Mary lose her baby in the fire, and oh my God when Albert dies. I have a question the Actress that played Mary did she really go blind.

@mkfan5858 You're welcome for the vids..... And to answer your question, the actress who played Mary never went blind. In fact, after LHOP and a few other small roles, the Melissa Sue Anderson eventually left Hollywood to focus on her family. I have to admit, I was almost convinced the actress was truly blind too... lol

I should have asked my pastor the same question: I had to tell my daughter he dad was never coming back from work the day he disappeared, on September 11, 2001. What was I supposed to tell her the reason was?

I ended up saying I have no idea why, b/c I don't, and neither does anybody else. But they all sure love to come up w/ every stupid reason there could possibly be and try to pass it off as intelligent.

Thx for uploading this Emotional2000. As a child I watched LHOP with my mother, she always answered any question i had about the habits of the Ingalls, Walnut Grove etc.

ok i dont get it mary in real life went to school in iowa but she also lived with her parents then with carrie and grace did she live with them after she graduated and also if any one has the book ''the story of the ingllas'' it will also say a biogrphy of the the family in lhbooks and u turn to page14 -15 you will see some of the real mary bead work

@jecka1982 Do you even know what I was referring to? The way he yelled at Laura. And not just in this episode. Did you see the pilot movie when he yelled at her for disobeying him even though she had good reason? Everyone else in the family is expected to behave and have perfect manners, but when he gets upset, it's ok for him to lose his temper because he's the man of the house?? Ok yes it strikes a nerve with me because of memories from my own childhood.

My grandfather went blind in 2005. Luckily, he went to a doctor and they fixed his eyes! Thank God! :D
