Welcome back to the Cineverse where we review Martin Scorsese's Hugo, starring Asa Butterfield, Chloë Grace Moretz, Christopher Lee and Ben Kingsley
Hugo tells the story of an orphan who lives in the walls of a train station in 1930s Paris. Hugo is wrapped up in a fantastical mystery involving his late father and an automaton that his father brought home before his death.

The only thing I didn't like about HUGO is it looks like it's going to be HARRY POTTER in the beginning but gradually transforms into PINOCCHIO and eventually ends up as HUCK FIN.

for the most part i agreed with this, but personally I think really little kids around the age of 1-7 wouldn't be able to sit still. I think that age 8+ could handle it. My younger brother who is 11 loved it. I saw even younger kids who enjoyed it too.

Did not agree with this review. I thought Hugo was a complete joy to watch and I didn't find it to drag either. It definitely reminded me of the first Harry Potter film for its magic but also wonder. I think alot of people seriously underestimate what kids will tolerate, obviously not all of them will go for this especially when you consider just what direction most kids films have gone these days. However I personally think it has more than enough intrigue and charm to really thrill.

It would have been great if Johnny had done a cameo though!! Martin Scorsese had one!!

@twocanplayatthat You're right. My mistake. He PLANNED on having a cameo, but it didn't happen... I didn't realize the article I was reading was AGES old!

The Cineverse would like to first thank you for both viewing our video and expressing concerns about our review. In response to your query, we felt that this particular film was indeed well made. With that said and keeping in mind the mindset of a child, we do not think the overall point or moral of the film will be grasped/understood by a young audience.

. Also, the length of the film is an issue especially seeing as though the movie relies heavily on character development and dialogue as opposed to action. Hugo is a movie that parents will take their kids to, not one that kids will drag their parents to.
