Nintendo Wii Launch - Times Square, New York

This one's strictly for the fanboys: the biggest Nintendo geek event of the decade, captured for posterity. I got in line at about 4 PM Saturday afternoon, and 9 hours later I became one of over 3,000 satisfied Wii owners created that night at the Times Square Toys R Us.

The music is "Someday", by Chicago. Yes, I repurposed a song about the sociopolitical turmoil of the 1968 Democratic National Convention for a video game tribute. I'm sure they're already reserving a place for me in pop culture hell.

I'm in Australia. On the news you heard about the PS3, Xbox 360 and PSP launches. You wouldn't even know a Nintendo product launched here.

When i look at this vid i can see why there were no reported riots of the Wii on tv. Sometimes i feel bad for the PS3, but hey thats sony's plan. But Nintendo was my first ever since i got my SNES back in 1991, *surrounded by all nintendo's while hugging my Wii*

Ahhh yea cool but did like do they still sell them out there I got mine in January I didnt really want to go to opening day
