Greenpeace frees ocean life from Pacific longliner

The Greenpeace ship Esperanza freed tuna, sharks, marlin and an endangered sea turtle from a Taiwanese longliner on Saturday. The vessel was fishing in the Pacific Commons, the international waters we want to see protected as a marine reserve.

It is possible to find a proper balance between fishing and overfishing. What most people don't understand is by putting the "animals" and the eco-system first, we preserve said lively-hood and us at the same time. No resources=no us and we can all agree by saying if there's no fish theres no fisherman, so why wait considering we're already in the red? Wise up, think about it carefully and I'm sure some of you will come to understand eventually.

So Greenpeace went into international waters, told the captain of a fishing vessel to stop his lawful fishing operation, then stole a radio beacon from him. Then, Greenpeace strong-armed the Captain into pulling up his fishing lines in exchange for the return of his stolen radio beacon and vandalized his vessel with the rhetorical question "Pirate?"

The only pirates I see here have yellow flags and call themselves green.
