i have a 95 Camry 5sfe. what is that plug that goes into the air filter box right below the intake hose that connects to the air filter box? and what does it do?

What happens if you do have a dead cylinder? My car definitely is misfiring but I don't know how to solve the problem

If 1 cylinder has very little or no compression compared to the other cylinders, you will need some engine work done. It could be a number of things. A burned valve, with a chunk missing, bad piston rings, or a bad head gasket. Hope this helped you.
Please let me know if I can help anymore.
My suspicion is that either the plugs, or wires are wrong or bad, or you have oil in one of the plug tubes. Let me know what you find.
Thanks :)

Next check your fuel injectors by putting a long screwdriver on the injector, and holding it up to your ear. It should have a clicking sound. Compare the sound across all 4 injectors. If any sound different, it could be a bad injector. Next get a fuel pressure gauge, and hook it up inline to the top bolt of the fuel filter. Pressure should be between 30-40psi if memory serves me right. Finally run a compression test. All cylinders should be about the same.
even if they are low.

Next check to make sure your coil isn't cracked. you can do this by pulling off the 3 8mm bolts and removing the distributor cap. Just look for a crack on the shinny surface of it. Next check the cap for cracks, then put it back together if it's ok. Next start the car and while it's idling spray some carb cleaner near the intake manifold (back side of this engine). If the engine speed changes, then you have a manifold leak, and you'll need to change the gasket.

@MrCharrrles Sorry for taking so long to reply, I don't check my comments that often.
There are 3 basic things that can cause this. Air, Fuel, or Spark.
1st, check your spark plug wires for any carbon tracing, or signs of oil in the plug tubes, also check the plugs for excessive or abnormal wear. also make sure you are using either
Denso, or NGK plugs. Toyota's don't run well on any other brand.
continued in next comment do to character limits.

@mctapout186 That would be the intake air temp. sensor. It tells the computer how hot or cold the air is that is entering the engine. This is so the computer can tell if it needs to engage the cold start injector or not.
