this puppeteer is prob one of my most favorite street performers ever! i've caught him several times over the years (since i moved here in 02) in front of the art institute museum and i always have to stop for a bit before i reluctantly move on... anyway, this is in response to the comments that the puppet is the star, not the puppeteer... i think that this puppeteer in particular is as important as the puppet, i love watching both of them in action. he's rocking out and into it!!!
@KatsuMacKinncheez Precisely. The whole point of puppetry is to create the illusion that inanimate objects can move independently. Even in Japanese bun-raku, where the puppeteers are always seen with their puppets, professionals never draw attention away from where it belongs. It doesn't matter that we can see them both at the same time. The puppeteer should never distract from the puppet.
anyone who actually does puppeteering knows that you are trying to keep peoples attention on the puppet, we dont like people watching us when theyre supposed to be watching what our puppets are doing. The entire point of making a puppet move realistically is so people forget its BEING moved by someone else.
Aw cmon man!!.........the little guys just start his solo and the vid times out!!

The "Puppeteer" is part of the show, some of us enjoy seeing how the performance is done as well as the puppets performance itself.
Thank You GLH04 or whoever filmed this for not cutting out the human star.
