've raced at STPC since the start of the league. I started out being the admin of the Premier division until this season when I had to leave to focus on school, and take some time off from racing. The time off didn't come until I got the puppy, when I had to keep more of a keen eye on her. She's done well with housebreaking and I hopped behind the wheel. Anyway, when I first started out I was basically a rookie driver in a field full of people with more talent than I have in one finger. After seasons of racing, and with the help of some friends, great things have come. This season alone I was a contender for wins on a few occasions, two winding up in last-lap crashes and a few others winding up in early wrecks or issues with iRacing. This season and last season were two of my best seasons, this one just gets better. In Premier I've had all solid runs, and in the mods I've either been up front or wrecked.
I can finally say that after over a year of trying, I have finally won something at STPC. After countless crashes, computer or internet failures, or just general bad luck, it's finally in the bag. Probably over 250 or 300 starts across the board in all divisions... I won in what is my favorite car, the SK, at one of my least favorite tracks, Concord.
It wasn't an uneventful race. I did my regular routine of taking my dog out before the race, which ran a little long because she had some business to take care of this time. So I didn't get to qualify, and I didn't even have gas in the car. Lucky for me, the caution came out early... so I did get to put fuel in the car. We also had a smaller than average field, partly because of the track. Then I played strategy, following then leader Jeremy Davis (who is a good friend of mine on here), running 1-2 for several laps. I never pushed the car at all. Two cautions and pitstops came in... on our final pitstop he made an adjustment to help his car come in a little later to contend for the win. This made the handling go away, and as I was catching him back up the caution came out with him leading. For the last two restarts he chose the outside... on the last restart we ran door-to-door for a lap and I cleared him with 10 to go, and never looked back
Congratulations!
