Chaiyya chaiyya 1998 film Dil Se (From the Heart). Stars: Shahrukh Khan, Manisha Koirala, Preity Zinta (debut), Malaika Arora. Playback singers: Sukhwinder Singh, Sapna Awasti. Lyrics by Gulzar. Music by A R Rahman. Choreography by Farah Khan. Producers: Mani Ratnam, Ram Gopal Varma, Shekar Kapur. Written-Directed by Mani Ratnam. The film is about a love story with terrorism as backdrop. Chaiyya means shadow. In 2003, this song was voted #9 (out of 7,000 songs) by people in 155 countries. The film flopped in India, but did better outside the country. The film still won six Filmfare awards, two National Film awards and one Berlin International Film Festival in Germany. Another verion of this song is "Thaiyya Thaiyya" that as also featured in Tamil film "Uyire". Sony video blocked in some countries, including Germany.

look at her face when he calls to her in the beginning. She must've been like "Ccha! [facepalm] Not this baboon again! These gundas are gonna beat him to shit." What really was missing from the movie was her side of the story, would've been ten times more interesting. Revenge? Coercion? Destitution? What drove her to violence? And what does Amar do to change her?
