This is one of my all time favorites, Shorty Lebanc is on the accordion and Cleveland is playing the fiddle. This is real Cajun Honky Tonk music, great song.
My Uncle Jesse "Jay" Stutes sings vocals and on steel guitar. My grandfather, Charlie Babineaux, plays rhythm guitar. Shorty LeBlanc on accordian. My great uncle, Cleveland Crochet, on fiddle. The drummer's name I can't remember, but it'll come to me. This is no Zydeco. It's pure Cajun music. Eddie Shuler produced all their songs at Goldband Records.
Most of us in SOutheast Texas call this Swamp Pop... Sugar Bee on the flip side was probably the first national hit by a SW LA cajun. Now Wayne Toups...he's Zydecajun!!! Played this 45 on our record player as a kid.
Thanks for posting this true Cajun Classic. As to the song being zydeco, i wouldn't call it zydeco. To me Zydeco music has jazz influence to it. I was born and raised Cajun and even speak the language fluently
thanks so much for posting ! I had this record many years ago but lost it along with my 45RPM RCA Victor.....great old memories.....does anyone know release date? Thanks
THANKS FOR POSTING..... ALTHOUGH I AM USE TO THE VERSION DONE BY THE GREAT ACORDIANIST , ANDREW CORMIER AND VOCALS BY DALLAS ROY
