Regardless of the source of the laughter the sound still has to be mixed and balanced from several different microphones, what I should have said is that it's not very well balanced, anyway, not a big deal. Happy Christmas!

They played in front of an audience.

Next line: "Ordinary, simple people walking in and out of factories, offices and the cabinet"

Makes me feel a lot safer lol

@caggles1 Not canned, live

great stuff, I've never heard such loud canned laughter though, it's drowns out some of the dialogue . . .annoying

This makes sense more now than ever with the recent defence cuts.

@JoshuatheKodiak That's very Courageous thing to say.

That is because shakespeare is such an horrible author that it just NEEDS good actors for it to work.

@CurtHowland He was a theater actor - of Shakespeare plays, before being a screen actor. You know, most of the 'best' actors from England tends to have Shakespeare background.
I was lucky enough to find this on the Arts & Entertainment network in the mid-80's (back when they used to broadcast quality). No one will ever be able to make a show this good again. It would require too much of an attention span from the audience. To make a comedy of 3 middle-aged men sitting around a table talking for half an hour requires such a high calibre of comedic writing and comedic acting that are totally lacking today.
