Professor Tom Quinn is a leading figure in cardiovascular nursing. He is an adviser to the Department of Health in emergency cardiac care. He is also cardiovascular, stroke and research lead for the West Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust (WMAS) and clinical lead for cardiovascular disease, stroke and vascular diseases in the NHS National Library for Health.

Professor Quinn's areas of research focus on improving systems for delivery of rapid emergency cardiac care, both in and out of hospital. He is also involved in shaping policy in the cardiovascular arena.

In this talk entitled 'Saving Time, Saving Lives: improving emergency care of heart attack and stroke', Professor Quinn talks about some of the pioneering research that he has been involved in throughout his professional career.
