Gasconade Float Trip - 2007

Float trip on the Gasconade in Missouri. The river came up and our canoe floated away. At 2AM I waded downstream and found the boat hung up on a tree. Scary, but a good time.
Music WAS by Blue Mountain, but I had to pull it due to copyright issues.

Where are you at specifically here? My uncle used to own Eden Resort, right at I-44, south side. I used to go up there in the summers and help out with the canoes, guide, hang out with the cousins. One time a guy from Fort LW shot a hole in the bottom of a canoe when they bumped a branch and knocked a snake off into the boat. That's about how bright most of them were.

I'm sorry, I don't remember exactly where. We were quite a bit above (south of) 44, though. We pulled out well before Fort Leonard Wood.

I think it was a rooster tail. My favorite all around Missouri lure.

How much do you ever use plastics (smallish ones, I mean, in the rivers and ponds)?

I like fishing plastics. Lizards and crawdads around 3 to 4 inches are great in the slow water. I hang them up too much in the faster water.

Mann used to make a brown-and-yellow craw with sort of spiraling claws...man, those were deadly on rivers and ponds up there. Always did well with lizards, too.
