  • It seems that you have been living in a different country thinking it was Oman :-) I've been here for ages and i think their safe building practices are much better than Europe, USA , ... Moreover, greenery is all around you wherever you go.

To Sum, for a desert based country which is less than 40 years old (since Qaboos took over), Oman could easily be looked at as a miracle. (for the records, death toll after GONU was less than 80, same level huricanes kill thousands in other countries)

  • Wadi KAbir ?!

  • Are there storms all the time in Oman?

  • I am omani and i see all this real...

  • on the surface oman looks luxurious. but when it rains everything leaks, the windows, doors, roofs, and even the walls soak up everything like tissue paper. my heart goes out to you. the roads are indadequate in terms of drainage.but safe building practices practices would be a step in the right direction. the upside is that the place looks a little greener afterwards and less faded. you really forget what real colours are like after you have been their sometime.

  • Damn the storm could be heard even through those barriers sounds fierce
