My thoughts and "grades" for each person on this list:

#25: Pretty much started the industrial revolution by producing the first cheap method of transportation and power...even if he didn't REALLY invent it. A+

#24: Despite what Simon Schama says, I think Aquinas belongs on the list because he showed that science and religion can peacefully coexist. A+

He says countless billions actually only about 10 billion people. Remember that the population was only about 275 million 1000 years ago and did not hit a billion until the 1800's
