Ruth Sherman, 88, claims she was humiliated when TSA agents asked her to strip at JFK airport during the Thanksgiving holiday.
In what could become the next impetus for public outrage toward the TSA, another elderly woman has come forward as having suffered emotional damage at the hands of the dastardly agency's inspectors. Elderly Ruth Sherman was flying home after visiting her son Ralph when she was stopped on account of the large bulge at her waist. Sherman was taken to a private screening room and made to pull down her sweatpants and underwear.
Turns out the "threat" was merely Sherman's colostomy bag. Humiliated, Sherman boarded her flight home, crying throughout the plane ride. When her son Ralph got wind of what happened, he contacted Jet Blue and then the TSA.
This is the second report of shall we say overzealous TSA agents investigating elderly Americans during the holiday season. Also last month, 85-year-old Lenore Zimmerman alleges that she was made to cooperate with a strip search as she was leaving JFK for her home in Florida.
Rather be safe than sorry. So we are not going to strip search elders because of respect? What if the terrorist hires grandmas as suicide bombers?
