  • There are temporary "baby-stays" that attach to the mast and the sides of the cabin top. These keep the mast from swaying while raising or lowering the mast. These cables are aproximately 5' long. If I'm only going out for the day, I usually just leave them installed. They don't harm anything, and are not in the way of anything.

  • What did you use for a gin pole? That's too short to be your boom isn't it?

What did you fasten it to at the base of your mast?

    Thanks

    Brian

  • @captdon001 This is exactly what I am looking for! I have an O'Day daysailer 16.7' but need an easy way to raise the mast. There is a hinge - just need your line system. I'm sure others would benefit from your help.

  • I was just adopted by a '80 Capri 18 and I'm in love!

    Will ask serious questions soon...

  • Hey! Where are you ? I own a Catalina Capri 18 as well !

Where did you get the design for your system? I've got a system I found online from a guy who owns another Capri 18 near San Francisco.

  • how do you keep the mast from swaying?
