U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station Kargaburun, Turkey operated from 1959 to September 2, 1994 and then was turned over to the host nation. With the coming of satellite Global Positioning Systems all U.S. Coast Guard operated Loran stations ceased operation in 2011.
