  • resession surely?

  • Amen octavebasse8.

  • Though they were not under his direction at the time of this recording, the choir is still a testament to the fine direction of Gerre Hancock and his excellent musicianship. My he continue to sing with the celestial chorus. He will be greatly missed!

  • @Bigbearbeau They're affiliated with the Episcopal Church USA so they don't really have to follow rules. However, many churches in the US which once were affiliate with the Church of England at the time of their dedication, often wear scarlet. St. Thomas is not an exception.

  • is this still anglican, church of england? and can they still wear scarlet, only the queens chapels can here?????

  • I think the audio and the video are not occurring at the same time. The psalm (sung in the recording) sounds like there is a director cuing the choir. There is also no sound of footsteps. Finally, the sound of the choir does not change as the recording progresses as it would if they were moving around the entire church.

  • It is wonderful the hear that the Anglican Chant style of psalm is used in the USA. I am glad to say that it is still very much a major part of thurch services that I attend in Anglican Churches here in Australia. It would have to be one of the greater musical contributions for the Anglican church

  • We do it here in Lincoln Cathedral too, after Eucharist on Sundays.

  • Yorkminster England do this, but from memory, not difficult but hey

  • I should add in re earlier coments that they had already chanted two psalms earlyer in the service before the readings. This was in place of a recessional hymn.
