The Hollywood Christmas Parade of Stars 1960, formerly the Hollywood Santa Parade, is an annual parade that takes place on the weekend after Thanksgiving in the Hollywood community. The parade's 3.5-mile route follows Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard and has many celebrities among its participants, include Gene Autry, The Cisco Kid Duncan Renaldo, Ray Corrigan with the Corriganville truck and trailer, Clint Eastwood and the Rawhide cast and many more celebrities.

I remember watching this parade on Channels 11 & 13. It was always funny to see Hobo Kelly and Bill Welsh host this annual event. I know there were a few times when the Santa Claus, would always mess up who he was talking too. Todays parade just isn't the same, way too much time talking hardly any time listening to the bands. And what I hate the most is that they give Santa about 30 seconds of air time and run the credits over him.

In the mid 60's it was easy to get press passes for this. While I was in H.S. we used to go down there and have our passes. Life was much simpler back then.

Cool footage. However, this must be from 1961 (new car season started back then in September)... Jack Bailey, for instance, is in a 62 Studebaker, Lawrence Welk is in a 62 Chevy.

Also seen in this parade is my dear friend..Soupy Sales(Who network kidult tv comedy show was being broadcast on the full ABC TV Network from Hollywood by this time).
