  • Just out of interest. What was on the "b" side ? There were two versions, I think, one with " The Price of Love " , the other with an old C&W tune called "C'mon Now " recorded about 18 months previous when we were still The Strangers ( Decca Brum Beat LP 1964 ).

  • @68drip sorry about slow reply, busy week, yeah, it was 'come on now' on the b-side....i'll look out for the other one.

  • Brilliant upload. How did you get a copy of this single (1966 ) ? Film clip fits it perfectly. Where is that from ? Group's name didn't have "the" infront. Mick was NOT a member altho Jake was at the time of release. Only the singer was on the record, others couldn't play 'cos they weren't in MU.

I thought I had the only copy on CBS.

    P.S. It's me that's singing

  • @68drip excellent, thanks, good song, haunting, surprised it hasn't already appeared on one of the rare 60s compilation.....there was a promo copy of this on ebay a couple months ago, first i'd seen, then a couple weeks later an orange cbs copy.....i'll drop the 'the'....

  • Wow,

Is this the Finders Keepers with Jake Elcock and Mick Brookes from Wolverhampton.

    Awesome.

I'll send a copy of this to my friend Brian who write for Brum Beat, by the way have you seen Brian's old band Varsity rags video on YT.

    Very nice indeed.

    Best wishes

    Mark :)

  • @oldstrat1 it is, yeah, i like it....i checked that blog before posting, cool....i'll check out that other video later today.....thanks

  • it´s include on one of the FADING YELLOW cd comps.

  • WOW. just wow

  • Brumbeat site suggests the song was written by John Stewart who wrote Daydream Believer but it isn't on the John Stewart's Lyrics database californiabloodlines. I queried this and received a reply telling me that Light was written by another John Stewart. Anyway, thanks for making my day!!

  • Radio Essex told me BBC des not have a copy but tracked one down in the collection of broadcasting legend Keith Skues.

  • I have searched all over for this pirate radio turntable hit!!

  • Produced by Scott Walker! Brilliant little song.
