So I DJ'd a set here in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan at Fire & Ice nightclub. It was a Sunday night and I was acutally really impressed with the turnout.
The crowd was great and very responsive, lots of fun was had.
I took a chance with Dubstep because I wanted to see how hte crowd would react to a genre they do not play here.
Dubstep is a whole new world to these guys because it is a break-beat. House music being 4/4 is very straight forward to dance to (well a break beat is easy to dance to as well) but it is just very different.
I watched people flail around trying to dance in time with the beat but most were just confused. I backed off and went to House music again after this song, I might try Dubstep again elsewhere, perhaps after some drum & bass or breaks, to ease them into it.
How DO you dance to dubstep?
