These people are mistaking white respect for white privilege. Whites are respected the world over for our great inventions and discoveries. The whites in this film do not believe what they are saying. if you hooked up any one of these whites on this video to a lie detector test and asked them if they really believe in the equality of the races, they would never pass the test. The white race would be so much better off by themselves.

@blokcom No one is generalizing white people. White privilege pertains to situations like not being asked by cops if I "belong" in a suburban neighborhood or being followed in a store where a person of color would. In both situations I benefit from racism even though I've done nothing to encourage it. THAT is the point of this discussion. It's not about making anyone a target or feel guilty (unless they actually HAVE consciously asserted their privilege... in which case they deserve it).

The point is to understand that those day to day benefits that you think all people enjoy, are the result of slavery, period. And not all people in fact, not people of color, enjoy even those day to day things. Even a poor white person in america will not be judged only on the bases of his skin tone, while people of color continue to be.
