there are no winning celebrations like this anymore. Messier and his tears these boys were awesome. Now a days guys go play for contenders just to win a cup so they don't get the same thrill these guys did. I miss these days of hockey.

@Persadish Wow. Imagine how the Islanders fans must feel! I mean, at least the Oilers were in the finals in 2006. The Islanders haven't done anything in the league since the day of this clip.

It's sad to see what the are Oilers are now, when you see this video. Edmonton Oilers: Stanley cup champions, the greatest team with the greastest players... Now?...what a disgrace. And its been that way since 1993. I have family in Edmonton, and it's hard to tell the younger kids how great the Oilers were, when they've grown up with them being consistantly abysmal.
Edmonton has such loyal fans though, and I hope one day, they'll have team that reflects their passion.

Leafytube, I agree totally. Game 1 was really the difference. Fuhr was unbelievable. It was a miracle Oilers won.
Although the 5 game series looks good on paper for Oilers, it was actually a much closer series than the 83 sweep for the Isles.
Period by period, the Isles dominated 7.5 periods and the Oilers dominated 7.5 periods. You can watch the whole series and judge for yourself. The difference was Fuhr vs Smith. Smith never stole a game for the Isles the way Fuhr did for the Oilers.
