  • The old music is better, and this picture edit is really moving. They should revert back to this.

  • I used to look forward to hearing this music each week. It was really a shame they changed it. The opening of The American Experience has since never been as good.

  • @daveibukun Yet another malcontent who wants America to be a leftist utopia, as though something like that could even exist. Leftists don't like dissenting opinions, thanks for the example.

  • @AlaokDibar oh do shut up. Everybody blames everybody for everything goodness!!! leftist this, rightist that. Why not simply enjoy the theme.

  • @ToddlerTN

I could not agree more. The photo montage shown shows the progress that Americans made over the years, and it is contrary to the new leftist agenda that would make us all subjects instead of citizens.

That theme with those photos is a 60 second history lesson.

  • This was the best theme...gives you chills. Wish they had not changed it.

  • Best theme ever, period. I can only imagine somebody's liberal ideology got in the way when they decided to scrap it and force the atrocious "Time" theme on us instead.

  • @GardinerC yes, I love the couple @ 33 but it's the returning sailors that get me more... I love the shot of the Norfolk and Western's old steam engine #1218 Also Orville Wright flying Lt Selfridge who would be the first aviation fatality in powered flight when they crashed.

  • Sorry... it's the photo of the couple at 0:33

  • This was the best-- and they keep mucking it up and making it worse. Why?!

Also, I have always loved that photo at 0:31--so confident and uplifting-- and I've always wanted to track down a print. Even wrote to producers once asking for info once. ... Any help or ideas?
