The spread of E. coli linked to a local fast-food restaurant has now reached British Columbia.
The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit confirmed one person who was visiting the city has reported symptoms similar to those who have been diagnosed with the bacterial infection after eating at Harveys restaurant on Algonquin Avenue.
Dr. Catherine Whiting, medical officer of health for the city, said there are now 217 cases, of which, 42 are lab confirmed for E. coli.
She said the child admitted into Toronto Sick Childrens Hospital last week is out of the critical care unit, but still remains a patient.
