Oh my god she canNOT act. And with a bit of training, any mildly talented girl could sing like her.
The same thing happened with the Jonas Brothers. Disney sees an upcoming band or singer and offers it a few million dollars to be part of the organisation, which means;
1) People might love you but the other half of the people will hate you (I know I do, and many of my friends!).
2) You only appeal to a younger audience, under 15 max.

@rathdrummer Very true. And it's always someone that their 12 year old fan base will think is "hot" and will obsess over. How has no one ever noticed that? They've been doing the same thing for years! And the parents are just as oblivious thinking "it's just a little teenage crush" .. Nonsense!
