In this short video I show a time lapse movie of the rising sun bringing out the details of petroglyphs on a site in West Texas. Following that I show an animation of a 3D model created from a Photosynth point cloud.
i have a question... how did you turn the pointcloud into a 3d model? i have tried to do this in meshlab many times but never got a good outcome... i would be glad if you could help me...
@DanFrederiksen, the reconstruction is fairly much as robust as your coverage of any given surface.
Things to keep in mind are getting a fair number of views of any given part of a surface. Orbits are one good way to mentally organise a massive amount of coverage, but any sort of pattern which provides parallax will do.
Brilliant! After being up until 2am, the music is just what I needed to sooth my nerves and the wonderful images were what I needed for renewed inspiration. Thank you for sharing your genius.

VERY impressive! Great Job!! What 3D rendering program did you use for a textureless render?

very solid reconstruction. I didn't think photosynth was that robust. is it always that good?
