Let's give CP Rail the spotlight for a bit. Back in the mid-nineties, CP was still relying on its massive fleet of SD40-2s, along with a ragtag fleet of MLW units that were being yanked in and out of the retirement yard by the hour. As well, rent-a-wrecks of every colour were doing their bit too.
love the MLW's they could pull, but rode like a jalopy with a bad wheel.

I started railfanning during that period. The lashups were far more interesting than today's boring GEs. Railroading at it's best. Thanks for the upload.
