A very short film, again done for my Animation II class. As explained in my animatic, we had to create a short film on the theme "slice of life," using charcoal on paper as William Kentridge does in his films. Basically, you had to draw something, take a picture, erase and re-draw again, on the same sheet, and that sheet was huge, moreso than what I'm used to animate on. You can't imagine how straining that process is, and Kentridge deserves even more admiration for that. Needless to say, about a third through, my hands hurt so much I decided I'd just finish it without caring about the timing, so I ended up with that. I don't like it at all, it's too quick, too crude and not what I pictured in my head. But hey, I tried.

  • I shot every single change with a digital camera, and put all this together with a program called Crater CTP. But you could also do it with Adobe Premiere, Avid or Final Cut.

    Good luck! :)

  • What program did you use to edit it, and did you take pictures after each little progression??How did you do it? I have to do something very similar, and i need help!

    Thanks,

    :)
