Onboard Elise - Lotus Cup Europe @ Zandvoort ( Race 1, Part 2) VIDEO4

Onboard footage from an S1 Elise at Zandvoort. The drive was a guest drive courtesy of Paul Golding of Lotus-on-Track who is the driving force behing Lotus Cup Europe & The Elise Trophy and for whom I work for as Chief Instructor. Normally at this time I would be competing in the Nurburgring 24hr at the famous Nordchleife circuit. I have done the race the last 2 years but have yet to finish (videos on my Youtube Channel). Zandvoort in an Elise was just too good to pass up, I had only driven the circuit once before in some MX5/Miata races I did back in 2008 (also on my Youtube channel)

The car I drove was a standard S1 Elise using the standard ECU so was down on power on most of the rest of the field but I managed to hold onto 2nd place until a mistake late on cost me and I finished 3rd. This car is livered up in the colours of Project Bloodhound the new Land Speed Record as it will be driven in June 2009 by Wing Commander Andy Green in an Elise Trophy race to raise awareness of the campaign. The goal is 1,000mph (hence the number plate).

I was under strict instructions not to damage the car especially after my two crashes last week at Croft
