Jailed for decades.

Also, he wasn't the only one that stood up to tanks and police. There were hundreds of people like him. It's just those weren't caught on film.

This conflict isn't as cut and dry as this film portrays. China couldn't be a free democracy at that time. Even now they can't. It's not economically possible. Well, unless you want chaos.

Uh how about the fact that those tanks were used as transports for soldiers who later killed over 5,000 people protesting in that square.

That adds a bit of weight to the idea of him being executed.

Many people here are clearly biased. You only see the man trying to stop the tank. I see that but I also see the tank driver who did not want to run the tank over him. The tank driver did not know he was captured on video so he did not do it to pretend that he was merciful. Any evidence that the man was later executed ? If they want to kill him, they could have done it on the spot. Spreading lies that he was executed was unethical and groundless.

GUYS you ar being fed LIES!!!!!! my step mom was there for the entire event, the soldiers controlling the riot were told not to kill the protestors no matter what, when the protestors found that out they slaughtered about 50 or 60 soldiers and the government finally said enough and brought in the tanks, that is when the cameras turned on. So they could make the China government look like the bad guys. when the protestors were the ones who gutted soldiers and put them on spikes in the air.
