Tommy Lasorda - 1977 World Series

Tommy "messes around for some time" as he takes Doug Rau out of the game. Rau put up an argument and Lasorda let him have it. Lopes had to intervene and tell them to calm down. Rau: "i feel good tommy." lasorda: "i don't give a shit you feel good there's four motherfuckin hits up there."

lasorda to lopes: "that's fuckin great for you to be standing out here talking to me like that."

not sure who says "lopes doesn't want to get back, get the fuck back" at around 3:00 when they are deciding whether or not to play the infield in or back.

Dave, you're simply wrong. That's not Rau who says "Don't jump on me..." That is Lopes talking to Rau. Lopes completes his sentence to Rau by saying "I'm just trying to avoid a scene out here." No one says anything about Lasorda's "senility." Try playing it again, and you might hear it correctly this time. The bottom line is that the entire problem is Rau. Lasorda and Lopes are trying to get him to act like a professional.

Thanks for posting this! The late Jim Healy, long time Los Angeles sportscaster, played this tape on his show when Lasorda managed the Dodgers for 20 years. It's even funnier with the bleeps added to it! =D

As a die hard Giant fan, and baseball fan, it took me a while to realize. I didnt really hate Dodger players or Coaches at all. What I hated, was" LOSING" to the Dodgers..Lasorda and the Dodgers are good for baseball. Love this taped rant!!....GO Giants!!!

@casheasy I think the TV network had Lasorda miked for the game - no doubt this didn't make it onto the air but I'm sure the techs were recording the entire audio feed from here.
