Lol (Lola, 15) cant wait to see all her friends on the first day back in middle school. Especially Arthur. But when he tells her he had sex with another girl over the summer as a test she is so hurt that she tells him she did, too. Of course he calls her a slut. In a world of I-pods, body piercing, thongs, cell phones, MSN, grass, music and booze, Lol and her friends feel their way through tenth grade, speaking a language peppered with text message shortcuts and dodging their often divorced and largely overwhelmed parents. Lols mom, Anne, after an affair with her ex-husband (My mom is doing my dad again, or vice-versa its weird!) is being courted by a police detective. When she accidentally reads her teenage daughters journal, she realizes just how wide the communications gap has grown.

  • The best part about this movie is the french air it has, you can't make a movie like this in America, not because it's Miley Cyrus, but because the maturity and open relationship between mother and daughter and drugs and sex is much more apparent in France than it is in America.

  • Culturally I don't think anyone can pull it off other than the original. Europe is just so much more open than America. The'll probably make it into some stupid teenage drama/comedy. And I'm sorry but Miley Cyrus is not a good choice, not b/c she was a Disney Star, but she just isn't experienced enough in major film to do this kind of acting. In my opinion shes was awful in the Last Song. A girl who has been a character for children half her life can't jump into major film acting right away.

  • French version looks wayyy wayyyyyy better. A

  • I don' t think anyone should put this on miley

Compared to the new one they made now this is probably so much better

But i really don't think it's her fault

They just live differently and don't talk about stuff they way european people talk

like sex , drugs and alcohol

we are so much more... open

  • I just watched this and i thought it was amazing! I loved it. I'm a teenager too and it related so much to my life. I'm not a French speaker but that doesn't mean i couldn't watch this movie. I just read the subtitles and i understood the movie. It was just amazing. No one should remake such a movie, everyone should watch the original.

  • @spraypaint1010 I'm French :)

A lot of French mothers and daughters are extremely close : to that extent haha

They talk about sex, drugs and alcohol so much more openly, they change in front of each other, they have such a chilled relationship :)

They act like sisters : tell each other almost everything.

But that's some French mothers, not all are like that : mine isn't ! She doesn't want to hear a word about my sex life. haha.

  • @zumba1292 I've seen the french version : it's just perfect !

You should definitely watch it !

  • The funny thing is when you think a movie will come out shitty, It always comes out sooooo much better. trust and believe me. ^^
