Mike C from http://mikecann.net http://BostonFreedomRally.com video.

Despite what an MPP (Marijuana Policy Project) video seemed to suggest, Barack Obama does not support marijuana decrim.

On the subject of cannabis Barack Obama is weak and most certainly does not support marijuana decrim.

Support a politician in a day and age where 75%+ of voters support medical marijuana and he says, "I won't risk any political capital for it". Support that?

That's not worthy of our support or vote.

We are the majority, we know what is right, we demand it!

This video was in response to a series of videos by MPP that seemed to suggest that Barack Obama was near perfect on marijuana reform.

MPP has responded 7 months and 10,000 views of this video later. We were glad to see that they have at long last presented a more balanced video in response to this video. We were heard. MPP acknowledged our points about their coverage of candidate Barack Obama.

Send a message to Barack Obama that luke warm support and worrying about political capital is unacceptable on the issues of medical marijuana and decrim.

Proof of what I say is true about Obama not supporting marijuana decrim, for the nitwits that can't be bothered to look and find out for themselves.

Obama Campaign Retracts Statement Supporting Decriminalization
http://norml.org/index.cfm?Group_ID=7506
February 8, 2008 - Washington, DC, USA

Washington, DC: Senator Barack Obama's campaign backed away from statements made last week affirming the Senator's support for decriminalizing marijuana, after being confronted with inconsistencies in his past and present campaigns on the issue by the Washington Times.

A spokesman for Obama's campaign blamed confusion over the meaning of decriminalization for the inconsistencies, and said that while Obama does not support decriminalization, "we are sending far too many first-time, nonviolent drug users to prison for very long periods of time, and that we should rethink those laws."

For more information, please contact Allen St. Pierre, NORML Executive Director, at: allen@norml.org. Full text of the Washington Times article can be found at: http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080201/NATION/435....

Would Obama supporting marijuana reform help or hurt him in the election? Smart money says that the 80% that support medical marijuana would be a boon for his candidacy see this link for more info on how it would help his campaign! This is 2008 not 1980!

  • You were right. I remember seeing this video in the run up to the last presidential election. I really thought that he would make some real change. Boy was I duped!

  • @gravityjunkie47 Ron Paul 2012 is bringing change! Even if he doesn't win, we have won. It won't be long. We are now in the game of Presidential Politics and it will be so until we finally win. A finalist for the GOP is very popular and getting a large portion of his support for this issue.....

  • I don't agree that Obama won't support marijuana decriminalization. The president won't go out of his way to legalize pot when the country is at war, the economy is failing, and he is trying to pass health care reform. His administration has already ended the federal raids on medical marijuana dispensaries in states that allow it. Marijuana is illegal in all 50 states in the union, and the president has no power to change state law. We'll see what happens when California legalizes pot.

  • Okay since your listing negative effects i guess you don't want to smoke it. Great I don't think anyone cares and everyone is aware of the negative side effects, fast food and alcohol are both far more lethal anyway. But regardless people should not face jail time (potentail ruining their life) just for smoking a plant and hurting no one. Not to mention our taxes should not go towards that either. If u think otherwise u are a close minded, ignorant self absorbed asshole.

  • Do we live in a free society?

  • @sargentcrackers

    Posted 1 year ago.

Since then, Obama's administration has declared marijuana to have no viable medical use.

  • Don't care whether Obummy supports or not, I didn't and WON'T vote for the pawn. BTW, he should now be enough proof of terrorist control within our govt. Current support should go to Detroit, our shining beacon of hope in a POINTLESS war! DETROIT VOTERS UNITE! LEGALIZE!! PUT THE TERRORIST OUT OF BUISINESS!!

  • @smokingajayble layin the hammer down like true stoner. you make all the cannabis community proud for pointing out the bullshit of prohibition

  • A nation that makes war on God's green herbs and trees - very pathetic!

  • @sargentcrackers But even just the medical cannabis law has brought California into making more money than ever seen from any other revenue... especially in my state Michigan....14billion if not more could be saved in just legalizing it, so yeah he should just end the war on drugs save our country the billions of wasted dollars and gain the extra billions it would bring in in revenue.
