@libbyhull Agreed! Exercise also plays a big roll. You are so right about how different kids learn differently too. Put everyone on pills and slowly take away their choices!

My son's school had me attend an IEP meeting. They indicated that even though my son is a great, and a happy student and very well behaved, he tends to stare into space at times, and that maybe he needs some medication to focus better. I told them maybe they are serving too many carbs at lunch time causing him to become tired( zombie like), needless to say they were offended .

Thank you for your replies to my comment folks. I agree about the exercise thing completely. I can say that before and after school I can control what my son eats, as I watch what types of food I feed him, but during school I can't. They had a big episode on Good Morning America from a mom who was really cracking down on the schools poor food plans they have for kids. They load them with carbohydrates which skyrockets their blood sugar, and thus causes them to be tired and out of it.
