@levm90 That film would kick Avatar's arse.

Owen's obviously pretty sedated - probably on something prescribed to get him thru the interview (Seroquel, most likely). It's an antipsychotic used for bipolar/bpd and used in addiction treatment.
As far as never speaking about it, what's to be credited for that? If he was depressed, he could have helped others with his story but chose not to. If it WAS drugs (as Dill70 says - MUCH more likely), he covered-up and wanted others to take blame (K. Hudson, S. Coogan). Why admire him for that?

@josiahmorris I doubt he was high. THis was right after his "suicide" attempt.. which anyone connected knows it was a drug overdose, no bandages, nothing else. In Hollywood its all about insurance and if you can insure a star (thats why Lindsay Lohan wont work) It is actually impossible to insure someone who does drugs. Suicide? no problem..

He's so high. They are just like the characters in their own films.

Owen Wilson is high as a kite

The reason it's a little strange is because they're in different locations at the time of this interview. Read elkemonkey's description to understand why. It makes much more sense then.

@jemimakahn I love Wes Anderson, but are you joking this is quite clearly a, uncomfortable interview
-
they act just like characters from the movies, the way the conversation flows too

WILDCAT.
Don't know why the media kept calling this a bizarre interview. It was a relaxed, typically unique interview one would expect from these two long-time collaborators. The media think that a star owes them an explanation of his/her private life - THAT''S what is bizarre. The fact that they haven't got one out of Owen Wilson for 2 years does him credit.

I think Wes Anderson should get a hyper budget of $200+ to do an Avatar-esque sci-fi film about melodramatic aliens and flying saucers and explosions and sex, but use the budget instead to actually fly to outer space and make a film on personal dilemmas, dysfunctional families, failed personal understanding, whatever... with a bolex.
