During our Rocks and Minerals thematic unit, our class participated in many hands-on activities and projects that were very motivating to my students. We made "mock" rocks using play dough and various "minerals," erupted our own handmade volcanoes, made an edible model of the layers of the earth, along with rock cookies, sedimentary rock models in a bottle of water, and much more!
