This reminds me why I'm not an atheist. The absurdity of the statement: "I believe that God does not exist" should be evident to anyone capable of acknowledging the absurdity of the statement: "I believe that God exists." Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Any conviction that God does not exist is just as baseless as the conviction that he does, resting on the assumption that humans can know all that there is to know about the universe, which is ridiculous; we are limited creatures.

higher power watching over it. I've said I'd love to learn it all. I've said putting an imaginary being before fellow human beings is ridiculous and unnecessary without further prove of the existence of said being. I've never said I know everything.

I am an atheist, but I don't mess with other people's beliefs unless I feel that they are harmful or hateful. I do get tired of people just stating their beliefs as fact, though. Unless God or Allah or Athena or Cthulhu comes down to earth and indicates that a specific religion is true, then I won't bother with any of it. IMO, any benevolent god who demands to be followed to escape damnation must first make it obvious which religion is the right one. Therefore, I can't picture a benevolent god.

I dont really think its sad that a bunch of over zealous nuts died from stupidity, its not like humans are an endangered species. Its ridiculous the way religion is forced upon scociety in the 21st century, if you tell someone you saw a UFO they laugh at you but its perfectly fine that they believe a single being created an entire universe from nothing gimme a break. Did you know the film "The golden compass" wont have a sequal because the catholic church believes it promotes heracy. FFS wankers
