Rather than look specifically at SC2 today, we're going to review the idea of eliminating assumptions. Assumptions are some of the most powerful obstacles to problem solving, polluting the thinking process without even being apparent. By reviewing some examples and creating a structure of self-examination, hopefully we can weed out those pesky assumptions from poisoning our quest to be awesome! :D

  • successfully distracted by Day9's hair...

  • I'm at the newbie stage learning right now and I'm very scared of becoming faux pro. I think I have a tendency for that in general.

  • I only have one thing to say. Fuck you, you asshole, TMNT was fucking impossible and you actually beat that game. You prick. I could make it ALL the way to the technodrome and always just ran out of weapons and died in that hell of a stage.

Ok... rant over, serious mode now. Excellent work on the videos you are totally spot on with all your points and i honestly have nothing but respect for you putting it out there and telling it like it is. Good shit.

  • I'm the Faux Pro.. but I was too oblivious to realise it.. Now I got to stop blaming Protoss players for my shit play! :) (i'm terran btw.)

  • @theboblikespie321 putting these types of videos makes shawn's campaign for responsible gaming come to a good position. it's like "being the best on all accounts", be it gaming or real life. thumbs up!

  • @Warsel generallyTOO MUCH assumptions are bad. it ruins our natural "juice" our natural talents and our natural creative thinking. assumptions are made to make our problems easier to solve than what it would be. however, TOO LITTLE assumptions makes our problem solving go on a quest than a solution (maybe related to incompetency on our part).

  • Just to make a quick counterpoint: Assumptions are not all bad. They get in the way sometimes, but more often than not, they are actually indispensable in ordinary everyday life. There is always (and for a good reason) less information available than would be required to operate on without any use of knowledge based on experience aka assumptions.

  • This vid is abit circuler.
