Follow us as we take to the road to talk to a man that claims to have heard a Florida panther far north of its current habitat. Is Florida really ready to limit growth and set aside enough land for its state animal? Is the Florida panther trying to make a come back, and will there be enough room for it to do so? We all hope so. But with its numbers only around or less than 100 and with the high amount that are killed by vehicles on the road, things don’t look good. And just where is all the money raised to help save this animal and the Everglades going?

  • Cats really do sound human when they scream, I sometimes think its my sister screaming when my cat freaks out xD I live in South Florida and one day hope to do something to help the Florida panther, there such magnificent creatures! (Im only 13 lol)

  • Cougars do make some weird screaming noises! I hope there will be florida panthers to help in the future, things don't look good for them right now :(

  • PLEASE SAVE THE FLORIDA PANTHERS! They are very beautiful creatures, I am 12 and I am trying to save the king cheetah and the Amur leopard!

  • Keep up the good work and thanks for watching :)

  • what's the difference between a mountain lion and florida panther? they look the same to me with diferent names only

  • Essentially they are the same species of cat, if you took blood from a florida panther and a cougar from california genetically they would match. They have just adapted differently to where they live.

  • 160 or even more is the number now it was down to 70 in 2007 now in 2011 its 160 Panthers

  • poor animals. that is what they think of us. poor humans.

  • Sadly I don't think they can be saved if it's anything like where I live...every redneck that has a truck and a gun thinks it's his right to kill anything that is wild and breathes just because it's there.....sad but true..

  • i am suprized there are any left. i dont beleive they can make it. there are to many vehicles on florida roads. maby they should be caught and released in the mountains. but dont know if they would surive a different climate.

  • I'd like to hear a plan to round up remaining panthers like the California Condors were years ago until we have actual laws with teeth, protected areas, habitat acquired etc.

  • i just came across one here in greenville, sc

  • The US fish and game isn't at fault, mankind is at fault, we as human beings failed the lion.
