A "Fresh" Perspective On Islamophobia

Let us explore some Quranic verses, Sayings of the Prophet and Islamic traditions.

Quran Surah Al-Jathiya Verse 18:

Then We have put you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه و سلم) on a (plain) way {*Sharia} of (Our) commandment [like the one which We commanded Our Messengers before you (i.e. legal ways and laws of the Islâmic Monotheism)]. Indeed in the Messenger of Allâh (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) you have a good example {*Uswa Hasana} to follow for him who hopes for (the Meeting with) Allâh and the Last Day, and remembers Allâh much.

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.(1)

a) It is obligatory to have Belief in the Messengership of the Prophet (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم). Narrated Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه: Allâh's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said: "By Him (Allâh) in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, there is none from amongst the Jews and the Christians (of these present nations) who hears about me and then dies without believing in the Message with which I have been sent (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism), but he will be from the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire." (Sahih Muslim , the Book of Faith, Vol.1, Hadith No.240).

Narrated Zaid bin Khalid Al-Jihani:
I heard the Prophet ordering that an unmarried person guilty of illegal sexual intercourse be flogged one-hundred stripes and be exiled for one year. Umar bin Al-Khattab also exiled such a person, and this tradition is still valid.

Narrated 'Ali:
Whenever I tell you a narration from Allah's Apostle, by Allah, I would rather fall down from the sky than ascribe a false statement to him, but if I tell you something between me and you (not a Hadith) then it was indeed a trick (i.e., I may say things just to cheat my enemy). No doubt I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "During the last days there will appear some young foolish people who will say the best words but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. So, where-ever you find them, kill them, for who-ever kills them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection."

Insult to WWII heroes: Graves of British troops smashed and desecrated by Libyan Islamists in protest over U.S. soldiers' Koran burning (dailymail, Feb 25, 2012):

"A furious mob has desecrated dozens of Commonwealth War Graves in a Libyan cemetery amid continuing fury in the ME over the burning of the Koran by U.S. soldiers.

Headstones commemorating British and Allied servicemen, killed during WW II campaigns in the Western Desert, lay smashed and strewn across Benghazi Military Cemetery."

Yemen: Car bomb kills 25 in southern city (AP/Google, Feb 25, 2012):

"A car bomb outside the gate of a presidential compound in southern Yemen killed at least 25 people ... new president was formally inaugurated and vowed to fight al-Qaida. A security official said the attack in the city of Mukalla in Hadramout province was carried out by a suicide bomber, and that it bore the hallmarks of an al-Qaida operation. Both al-Qaida and southern separatists are active in the region."

Gunmen burn schools in restive Nigerian city: official (dailystar, Feb 24, 2012):

"Gunmen burnt down a school in Nigeria's troubled city of Maiduguri, the second such attack in two days in an area rocked by Boko Haram Islamist raids, an official said Thursday. A group of unknown gunmen stormed Budun primary school ... Wednesday evening and set fire to classrooms and a store after seizing the security guard at gunpoint, according to state education commissioner, Tijjani Abba Ari."

Muslims Against Crusades meeting: Mohammed Abdin jailed for Canton threats (BBC, Feb 23, 2012):

"Mohammed Abdin, 21, from Grangetown, Cardiff, threatened officers who broke up a meeting held by Muslims Against Crusades at Canton Community Hall. He committed the offence days after receiving a suspended sentence for affray on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Abdin, who admitted the offence, was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court."

Muslim Admits to Attacking Atheist; Muslim Judge Dismisses Case (Opposing Views, American Atheists, Feb 22, 2012):

"Needless to say, this is totally, completely and unequivocally unacceptable. That a Muslim immigrant can assault a United States citizen in defense of his religious beliefs and walk away a free man, while the victim is chastised and insulted by a Muslim judge who then blamed the victim for the crime committed against him is a horrible abrogation."

Calls to Behead Indonesian Atheist Alexander Aan (JakartaGlobe, Feb 2, 2012):

"“These atheists should be beheaded, that’s what they deserve,” wrote a man who identified himself as Putra Tama, a Muslim from neighboring Jambi province. Other posts challenged atheists from the group to dare show themselves, instead of hiding behind the anonymity of social media."

Woman charged in beheading plot held without bond (YahooNews/AP, Feb 03, 2012):

"A federal judge in North Carolina ruled Friday that a Raleigh school administrator accused of paying a hit man to behead three witnesses in a terrorism case should be held without bond until her trial."

Beheadings? Muhammadan Islam has to be involved here, too.

12 killed in Pakistan bus stand blast (CNN, Feb 23, 2012):

"An explosion at a bus stand killed 12 people and injured more than 30 others Thursday in northwest Pakistan, police said. More than 10 vehicles were damaged in the attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police said. The assailants used a remote control to explode a car parked at the bus stand, according to Siraj Khan, a senior government official in Peshawar."

5 killed as protests over Quran burning rage in Afghanistan (CNN, Feb 22, 2012 ):

"Violent protests left at least five dead and others wounded Wednesday as demonstrations over Quran burning intensified in Afghanistan. Police killed four people and wounded 10 others during protests in Parwan province, said Abdul Wassi Sayedkhili, a provincial council official."

Why do these people act like fools because of a burned book?

Afghan police intercept suspected suicide bomb children (CNN, Feb 21, 2012):

"Afghan police have intercepted 41 children whom insurgents were planning to use as suicide bombers, an Interior Ministry spokesman said Tuesday. Four suspected insurgents were about to smuggle the children across the mountains into Pakistan from eastern Kunar province on Friday, said Sediq Seddiqi, the spokesman."

Into Pakistan... Interesting... ISI pulling the strings wouldnt surprise me at all.

Shooting in Afghanistan continues deadly trend (CNN, Feb 21, 2012):

"A man in an Afghan police uniform opened fire on NATO troops in Afghanistan, killing one, NATO said, in what seems to be the latest of dozens of cases of Afghan security forces turning their weapons on international troops who are supposed to be their allies."
