Forgotten friend is a video about the shelter situation in the U.S. The statistics are in the movie. As most of you know, Nessy was adopted out of a local shelter by us on September 1st, 2008. Although she is 11 years old, she brings so much love and joy to our home. I can't imagine someone taking her and just dropping her off at a shelter, knowing she would probably be put down. Not because of her age, but because the shelters are always overcrowded. It's a sad thing for this to happen and anyone who thinks these dogs have no clue what is going on, I recommend you visit a shelter. The song "Forgotten Friend" was graciously sent to me by Maria Daines. It was written for a shelter in Long Island. She gave me permission to use it and I can't say thankyou enough to her and Paul Killington. The work they do for the animals is phenomenol. So my sincere gratitude goes out to both of these wonderful friends of mine. I hope this video brings awareness to any who don't know the statistics. I hope it changes your view on things like this. Although shelters are a great thing, they shouldn't be overcrowded like they are. When we get a pet, it should be for life, not a convenience. Thankyou to all who watch.

  • Thankyou, for this great video. humans need to be remembered. I kept being strong the whole video, until this picture at 3:52. ;-( this finally brought tears to my eyes again. "If I say that I'm sorry will you save me?" ..and in the end, the owner's should be sorry, not this poor creatures. It breaks my heart everytime, that I just saved 1 dog. 1 of millions wich need to be loved. PLEASE, guys, go to the local shelter, not to a breeder! There are too much!

  • thankyou my friend. When I got Nessy, there were so many animals at the shelter she was at. And the sad part is more come in each and every day. I hate going into shelters, because I know I want to take each and every one of them. We need to be responsible for our animals and know they are not disposable, but forever friends. It means a lot to me that you stopped by. Thanks again.

  • As always, my sweet friend, this is such a moving video, made with such love and so much desire for change. Bless you for your incredibly kind and giving heart. When Maria shared this song with me a few weeks ago, it literally reached in and grabbed at my heart, just as all of their songs do, but the message was so clear...forgotten friend. That's what they are, these precious, hopeful souls in the shelters, dying every day as they wait for that forever home. Much love to you and yours.

  • Thankyou very much my friend. I knew the minute Maria sent it to me, I just had to do a video. It's a topic close to my heart. We need to help all of these sentient beings so not one more will be put down. Thankyou for your support and kindness.

  • I believe in my heart to this day that Sadie sent Nessy to TIP and your family....she new only 3 days and Nessy would go to sleep...A good dog a happy dog because of Sadie and you..Love you Andro..Love Tip, Nessy, Lexy and Sadie who will never be forgotten...wonderful video. Thankyou

  • thankyou my dear friend. I've thought about this for a very long time, and I think your right. Sadie looks down upon us and smiles. We still miss her, but we bless her for taking us to Nessy.

  • i had that same dog!!!!!! this made me cry

  • Das vid, das Lied... ich weine nur noch. Jede Knubbelnase ein wundervoller Freund und Begleiter. Mehr Verantwortung, mehr Respect für die Kreatur. Mehr Anstand.

  • If the number is really about 2.4 million in 2009, i see that as great progress. In the 70's the number was about 25 million.the progress has been slow, but it's been going in the right direction. since we acquired a low cost spay/neuter clinic in our county, the shelter's euth rate has gone down by a thousand a year Spay and neuter and keep educating. We are making a differance

  • i beat on my dogs regularly...it relieves stress..but i feel bad after.

  • Many here have put written things better than I can. The video, the song, both so heartbreaking except dear Nessy is with you. Bless you.

  • This video really tugged at my heartstrings, I have adopted 2 cats from people that didn't want them anymore, and recently got a beagle from an animal hospital's shelter that was a week away from being put down. My animals enrich my life so much I can't imagine ever living without them now that I have them. I will never, EVER, buy from a breeder. The song made me cry :(
