Actually it's a process of elimination.
1) I love A and B
2) But I have something in common with B but not A.
If you choose love then yes all you'd have to go with is the boyfriend, but, if you wanted common interests in addition you'd choose the friend. Like I said, purely hypothetical.

I agree with you regarding the amount of time necessary to pursue a career in law. The volume of assigned reading alone is phenomenal and for the most part I find it to be somewhat boring. If you're good at algebra, geometry, and/or trigonometry engineering might be a good choice. You definitely have excellent verbal skills as demonstrated by your debating performance here on YT; I suppose that might lead to a career in the fields of government and/or politics.
Scott, I didn't ask the question thinking you were some shallow guy who picked his friends and loved ones based on a singular issue. I asked a hypothetical question to see which you valued more in a person, love or common interests. That's all.

Yes but you said in the question that I loved both of them, one as a friend, one as a boyfriend, so It wasn't a question of love vs. common interests, rather a boyfriend vs. a friend. As I said in the video, love of sports would be a non-issue if I had to choose one.
So all I'm left with is an obvious answer to pick the boyfriend whom I love over the friend whom I love, but only because no other traits were given to the friend (ex childhood friend).
