"structural rigidity" - what other type of rigidity could this thing possibly have besides structural?

wouldnt it be better to carry a messkit pan just because it is sturdy.....altho good vid i thought with a single layer it would burn after 2minutes

Thanks for a great video! I have the AMK pocket survival kit and it has a piece of heavy-duty foil in it, so I'm glad to find out that it works. I think it's great that you two brothers spend time together in the outdoors. Inspirational.

Aluminium is poisonous

I really thought that foil would just breakdown. And now I know....
..how do you get the bowl out of the fire?

I used leather gloves.

Pretty good vid. A few points I'd add. Another vote for heavy duty foil. You should also improvise a lid and a wind shield. Both would have decreased time to boil; and conserved water.

These are true points, but most of the kits we see people showing on Youtube just have a small piece of foil, not enough for an elaborate setup as you describe. Our point was to see if we could use the small amount people are packing to boil water at all. In the future we will do a Video on a more elaborate setup. Thanks for the info.

You're right about what most kits include. Sorry if I spoke out of turn. I look forward to your further videos.

You didn't speak out of turn. We welcome any input. We don't profess to be experts, just a couple of guys out having fun.
